Maybe the sable-shaded hybrid would have preferred rage from her mother; at least if there was anger, hurt, pain, there was something. Kaena neither loved her nor hated her—she was stuck in the interim, not truly wanted at home but with nowhere else to go. It was only the virtue of her blood itself that had gained her acceptance back with Inferni, and she did not place much value on this blood herself. Her family meant little to her; she could hardly remember her littermates, and they were long gone, it would seem. The sable-shaded woman did not know of Andrezej's death, but neither he nor Rachias nor Arkham were still around. “Mmm. At least you know they still care, right? Anger before apathy,” she said, rolling one shoulder upward in a shrug.

The coyote woman looked to her companion with mild surprise written on her face, yellow-green eyes slightly widened and ears pricked in curiosity. “It would sound like you have quite a bit,” the woman started, tilting her coal-colored head to the side. “If you think the world is so powerful in its beauty, anyway,” Eris said, trying not to sound derisive in the least now; she did not truly understand such beliefs, but it did not mean she had to mock them. At the canine's next words, the Infernian's face crinkled in confusion; she did not see how beauty and roses related to her vague problem. “What is that supposed to mean?” she said, sounding more demanding and snappish than she had intented to.
