Element let his paw caress the opening page of the book. Everything about this was somehow incredibly familiar - the title, the author, even the smell of the pages as he inhaled. Element leaned closer to the book, about to drink in the words laid out there, when he heard a the Luperci next to him shout "Fuck!". Shocked by this sudden use of language, he began to look up when he heard a low groan - looking up in astonishment, he saw that one of the shelves was tipping downward. Looking over to the Luperci, he saw him steady it, then withdraw quickly and let loose another stream of curses. Element, ruffled by the incident, inched even further away and brought his book with him. Over here, the air was scented with attar, and Element noted that vines had grown here. Small flowers bloomed on it.
About to start reading again, Element bent down over his book. And it was a good thing he did - within seconds, another book zoomed over his head and exploded in a frenzy of pages and dust and leather binding behind him. Looking up in shock, Element found the Luperci glowering at it. He had kicked that book!
Element glared at the Luperci. "If what you're here for is to go and kick books about," he said angrily, "you might as well not be here at all!"
