Hope is the Dream of a Soul Awake

He was in the confines of Crimson Dreams still, he’d forgotten that he was waiting for his own parents to come and get him. They were fading from his memory as new ones took their place. He was relying on Savina as his mother now, and even though he’d had little encounters with Kansas he was really nice too and knew he was the daddy of his sleeping mates. He wasn’t so worried that he wouldn’t be found anymore. He was happy here. He then sniffed something he hadn’t been near before. The salt water of the sea. He saw water before but when he laid eyes on it… he couldn’t help but just stare for … well hours? No minutes… something like that but he knew it was a really long time. He wagged his tail at the water and moved to ward it. There was sand all over, this stuff he wasn’t use to, it clumped along his fur, it was a strange sand. The grey of everything, with the white froth of the waves was enough to baffle him. He could tell what was land and what was water just by the movement in the distance. He moved to the water, and stopped before the waves got to his feet. He sniffed it, but it smelled weird for being water, when the wave pulled on shore this time it was coming right at his feet. Denali yelped and jumped back, so the water wouldn’t touch him. Then when the wave pulled back into the water he followed it shorty until another wave came through. This was a fun game!! He started barking at the water, daring it to touch his feet. Yet he kept his distance when the wave did come. He was just having too much fun now that he didn’t notice the wolf nearby.
