Hybrid noticed a canine figure in the distance, forgot about it when he confronted a rather nasty-looking root protruding from the ground. He awkwardly hopped around it to avoid tripping and continued meandering along the path. He glanced back up and saw that the canine, decidedly doggish in appearance, was getting closer. He normally did not see many other clanmembers when he was patrolling, so the appearance of a clanmember was surprising. He was often the only one skirting around the edges of the territory while the others were safe in the heart of the territory, so he waited patiently for the Infernian to arrive. He hoped it was nothing important; he really did not want to waste any time conversing with the idiots that made up the lower ranks. They either deserted or abhorred the war, and he had taken to stalking up and down the borders of Inferni both as a measure against wolfish intruders and annoying coyotes. Nonetheless, he was a little curious to see why Gabriel – no, it wasn’t Gabriel – was coming this way. Hybrid squinted, but could not tell who it was. He huffed and waited for the creature to arrive.

It was a female that looked suspiciously like the Aquila. She spoke and offered a greeting: hello. Hybrid frowned and turned his head to get a better look at her. This was Talitha, Gabriel’s daughter – he had not seen her in quite some time.

“Hey,” he replied gruffly. “What’re you doing back?” he asked, his frown deepening. The last he’d heard, Gabriel had sent Talitha off with some wolfish coyote to keep her “safe” from the war. Whatever Gabriel had been trying to protect her from, a war or two would have done the young girl a great deal of good: give her some blood and she’d be as loyal to Inferni as any proud father could hope.
