Posting waaaay out of order but I really wanted to get this up. ._. All welcome, one or two only please, and I'd love it if it was someone close to her (family or extended)! 824 words.

She was beginning to get impatient. Artemis Marino had turned six months old maybe two weeks about, and though neither of her siblings had begun to shift yet and she knew that six months wasn't the guaranteed age, she was growing irritated by how long it was taking. The silver-tipped girl had been trying to force it to happen for weeks now, but it did not seem like it was going to happen when she told her body to change. Instead, it seemed as if the Marino girl was going to have to wait forever. She wanted to be able to change so badly! Artemis knew that being able to change would let her do even more cool things, like climb! She wanted to be the first one out of her siblings, too, secretly. She was the most adventurous—it was only natural, right? Well, she certainly believed it to be true.

The sun was hardly up, but Artemis had already bounded down the stairs excitedly, determined to make it happen today. It was edging on too late for her, and she wanted to be able to change now! The silver Marino dashed out of the partially open door, bounding in the direction of Rabbit Lake. She liked it there, and she loved splashing around in the water. She had enjoyed it ever since the day her parents had taught them how to swim there, so many months ago. The young girl bounded gleefully into the water, splashing in until she was deep enough that she had to tilt her head back to keep her mouth and nose above the water. The air was getting colder now, as fall was beginning to descend, so she moved herself out of the water quickly. It had been nice, but too cold to really play in.

Huddled on the shore of the lake, Artemis shook thick water droplets away from herself, her fur sticking out in every which direction. The sun was beginning to show (and that was probably a part of why the water was too cold, it wasn't even fully daylight yet), and she stretched out, letting its rising rays soak into her fur. She breathed in the heavy scent of the lake water and the grass beneath her, letting her mind wander. At a point she could not possibly pinpoint, she drifted into a short nap, rolling onto her back with her paws crossed over her thin puppy chest.

It could not have been an hour later when she woke. Artemis stretched herself and rolled onto her side, reaching her foreleg up to rub at her sleepy eyes... Only to realize something was different. Soft baby blue eyes snapped open and Artemis stared at her paw, so strangely shaped now and much more flexible. Her body felt strange, and excitement welled in her as she looked down to see her shifted form. Artemis stood shakily, forcing herself to walk to the edge of the water as gracefully as she could. She didn't want to fall down, after all. The smooth water of Rabbit Lake showed her what she had already seen—a lithe, lean figure of a silver girl with soft blue eyes, a mane of wavy dark hair falling over her shoulders.

She reached up to touch it gently, watching her reflection in awe. It was so pretty! It was kind of dark, mostly silver and black (reminding her of her mother's mane), but with the sunlight overhead, she could almost see some blue tints in it. It might have just been because of her fur coloring, though she also knew looking in a lake wasn't the best way to see it. A mirror would have to be used when she returned to the mansion, though she did not intend to go back now. She remained crouched beside the lake, watching her reflection with interest. It was so strange to see herself like this!

The young Marino wanted to jump and shout with glee, but she wasn't sure she was ready to move yet. She was astonished by the way she looked and the way her body felt. Gingerly she reached forward and touched the lake with the tip of only one finger. It was so strange! "L'ho fatto! L'ho fatto realmente! I..." The expression of joy drifted away from her face. "It happened while I was asleep? What is that!?" Artemis was still extremely elated, but she was miffed that it had happened while she was napping. How cheap was that!? The story was not exciting at all. She could not be disappointed for long, though. It was too wonderful! Artemis needed to find her mom and dad! She needed to find Parker and Silvano! She needed to find someone! The girl was so excited to be able to walk on two legs that she did not even know who she wanted to share it with. Maybe it did not matter who.
