Time was an amazing thing. It healed wounds, righted wrongs, and gave understanding for what once confused. It was hard when he was young and unable to forsee the amazing power possessed by time, but now that months and years had come and gone, he was able to see. Living had become so much more tolerable. No longer did he fear drowning in the waves of pain that life often created - he knew that they would eventually calm, letting him breath and smile again. He expected that his oldest children, and Mati, were beginning to see.

When the earthen woman spoke of an idea that he had supposedly given her, Kansas grinned in surprise. He was happy to be the source of some inspiration, but she didn't enlighten him further and he was left to wonder what she wished to paint. "You should show me sometime... if you want," the Sadira half-asked, half-suggested. It was possible that she liked to keep her work personal. As she bid him farewell, Kansas raised a pale hand and waved back, before watching her fade into the distance. Though he hoped he hadn't done anything offensive to chase her away, he was almost entirely sure that he hadn't. He knew what it was like to be struck with inspiration - nothing could stop him from seeking his music when it happened to him. Their little talk had left him somewhat more relaxed than before, so he lifted his guitar into his hands and began to mess around with it in the glow of the winter sun.
