Ouija didn't really have a purpose for this trip other than to randomly go out and venture. That didn't mean that something wouldn't end up being found. One just had to consider all options and they would find a use for most everything in the world around them. And well, that at is what Ouija did. With some of the things that he randomly crafted then he just used whatever he picked up and found. Oftentimes he had collected items without realizing what he would do with them right away. It never hurt to have some things stored away just in case. They could always become of use later. Whether for a project of his own or traded out for someone else to use. Either way there always could be some sort of use found for things that he came across.
Ouija had made his way out to the opposite coast than the one that he had come from. He wasn't certain what was around the area but that was why he was looking around. There was no way that he would know what this new land had in store if he never went out and searched around. He would have to explore if he were to learn anything. So for now he was exploring a small island just a short swim from the shore itself. The land wasn't all that big and was actually rather flat. In fact from where he was at he could easily spy on what was going on upon the landmass of Nova Scotia. After all he wasn't far out at all but it had been the driftwood that had attracted him. Wood could always be used. There were so many things that could be crafted from it or so many other projects it could be used in.
So of course seeing the wood that was just easy pickings he couldn't help himself. It didn't matter that the area this new pack that he had gotten himself involved with was within the forested area. This wood here was already on the ground and didn't need to be scavenged from the trees, such was the attraction to it. He could just pick it up and go with it. It was ready for use just the way that it was.
