Haven wasn't completely against drinking, but now he saved it only for happy occasions instead of using it to ease his pain. If he was in a good situation, in the company of good friends and family, he didn't have an issue in partaking a bit. Beyond that though he did his best to stay away from the firewater. Niro seemed to be feeling similarly concerning the whole incident with Lilya and Anatoliy and Haven certainly couldn't blame him. It was an unpleasant remembrance, on both counts, and he felt that it would be best for their conversation to leave that topic now.
