The young Marino girl was, and had been since it had happened, very disappointed with her own first transformation. Not to be misunderstood, she loved that it had happened, and she loved being able to shift between the forms! However, it could have been a much more exciting story, certainly. She wished that it was, because she had wanted to be able to tell Denali some exciting tale of adventure and wonderful changing, but that was unfortunately not the case. "I was hoping it'd be more exciting," she admitted, "but hopefully you'll be awake when it happens to you!" Secretly, though, she would be very jealous if his story was more exciting than hers—which, of course, it certainly was bound to be, because hers was really boring. It was a very big bummer, indeed.

Artemis laughed at his excitement once more about the strange object in the box and she reached for it, turning the box over in her hands quickly to study it. It didn't look like it would be difficult to get it out of the box, and she hoped it wouldn't be, because she knew that Denali really wanted that toy in the box, and she was going to get it for him, no matter how hard! Despite the weakening of the box's material from her brother's chewing on it, Artemis worked her fingers under the edge of the opening, using her claws to sever the weird clear sticky stuff that was holding it together. She did not like the feeling that the residue left on her nails, and she took a moment to scrape at it with another one of her nails, because it felt weird and she did not like it at all.

Once the box was open, she pulled the object out, but it seemed to be stuck to yet another piece of the cardboard material. She glared at it for a moment before stubbornly turning it over in her hands. She was going to get this out so that she and Denali could play with it, even if it was the last thing she did! Her eyes fell on the twisted little wires and she grinned happily, twirling them around and around in her fingers until she saw them come apart. "Aha!" she shouted, pulling the little truck free of its plastic trappings. "Here you go, Denali!"
