The young silver Marino was delighted to be able to help her best friend get the thing that he wanted, and she thought it was fantastic that she could show off her shifting skills to him. Out of her litter, she had been the first one to be able to change her body in the way that the adults could. Parker had been excited for her, but Missa did not like showing off in front of her quiet sister because she did not want to make Parker feel bad. Silvano was too serious for her taste, and she did not spend a lot of time with him, and he probably would not be terribly impressed anyway. He seemed to think that everything she did was silly, but she thought that he was boring, so she supposed it was a slightly fair mental trade-off.

Artemis watched him play excitedly with the truck once it was out of the packaging, changing back to her four-legged form again to play with him. The young girl laughed with glee, happy that they had gone on this adventure into the strange city, even if their parents might get mad at them for running off like they had. Artemis did not think of such things, anyway, and she wouldn’t have been horribly worried anyway, if the thought did cross her mind. Instead, she bounded through the old abandoned toy store with her friend for the afternoon, and the two of them played with anything that they thought was cool, and they each left with something of their own choosing. Denali left with a red rubber ball, and Artemis with a long tube with glass at each end. The box labeled the item as a telescope, but she did not yet know what it was for. The stuffed duck for Parker was, unfortunately, forgotten, though she would remember it later and feel badly for forgetting it there.
