Beached.

ooc: Everyone is welcome to join and make fun of Seyonne. Also, sorry for the long rambling post. Whoops. Takes place in Drifter Bay.

Seyonne, having never stumbled across a beach in his life, knew little about the tides. He had wandered out during low tide to explore, and now found himself stuck on a small island several yards from the main shore of 'Hogwarts. At first he had been worried, his little island was fast shrinking for quite awhile, but now the tide seemed to have met its final height. It wasn't going away though, which was a problem. He couldn't swim. He found this out when the tide first came in and he had tried to swim to shore. Tossed about on the waves, he had somehow made his way to this tiny island. He was tired, wet, thirsty, and his paws were bleeding from scrambling against rock. His island, now that he thought about it, consisted of two big rocks jutting out from the ocean. Some sand was stuck between the rocks, sure, but it wasn't much of an island no matter how you looked at it. He walked farther up one of the rocks, wincing slightly as he did. Since the tide had come in, it meant it had to go back out, right? How long would that take though? A few hours, or days? He was completely ignorant when it came to water. The forest had always been his home, and after this horrible experience, it always would be.

He had thought it nice at first, the beach. It was quiet and loud at the same time. No one was around, which made it quiet, but the steady wash of the waves were loud in a way that was far different than he was used to. When he got closer to the water the waves were exhilarating - wild and unpredictable. He had sat and watched them for quite awhile before walking along the waters edge looking at the wide assortment of shells and other various gifts from the ocean. He found one he particularly liked and carried it around in his mouth. If he had known the name he would've known that it was a sand dollar, almost perfect in its whiteness and holes aligned in the shape of a five-pointed star. He might have also known it was a skeleton of something once alive, and this would have made the trinket less appealing. As it were, he was blissfully ignorant of any dirty secrets the ocean held. This included the tide as well though, so perhaps he would have been better off knowing.

Either way, he was now beached. He was annoyed at his ignorance, but even more so at his inability to swim. For an agile fox it was strange to be completely knocked off his feet and have nature turn against him so completely. Nature had given him the trees he so loved to climb, but also these big waves that were impossible to conquer. He had never met something that was impossible. With a sigh he tried to make himself as comfortable as possible on his rock. He laid down and looked over the edge at the oh so close shore wistfully. He tried to think positive thoughts. Tried not to think of how thirsty he was, for he had learned today that salt water was not only disgusting, but made him thirstier. However, the more he tried not to think about his thirst, the more he did. Oh the wonders of nature.
