Have you been around since the beginning of 'Hogwarts? I was talking about the site with a esteemed colleague and we were wondering, as well as if 'Hogwarts has always been under the same management. -shrug- Just wondering.
He could see the hesitation in the wolf, and grew nervous once again that he would be left here. Thankfully the wolf bounded into the water and began swimming toward him. Seyonne watched the stranger's passage anxiously, sure that the wolf would be sucked under and it would be all his fault. He didn't know what he would do if that happened. He didn't have to find out though, because the stranger made it all the way over. It struck him as odd that this stranger would be more or less willing to go through so much to rescue him. He wasn't even a wolf, and most canines had an affinity towards their own kind and weren't willing to go through much to help others. Not that he was complaining. When the wolf was close enough, he climbed down as quickly yet carefully as possible. He hesitated before reaching out and placing a paw on his back. "Thank you." He didn't know what else to say, so didn't try.
He jumped out and landed mostly in the water. Quickly, he grabbed the wolf's fur in his teeth. He didn't really think out this part, and felt bad for biting his rescuer, but he didn't have much other choice. He was lacking in hands, and therefore thumbs, so was unable to hold on any other way. He couldn't see anything over the wolf's head, so couldn't tell how close they were to shore. The waves were sickening in their random movements and since he couldn't see much anyway, he squeezed his eyes shut and hoped for the best. Once they got to shore he would drop off as soon as possible. In the meantime, he tried his best to stay calm and ignore the stinging from the salty ocean on his paws.
