Valinta turned her head back towards Bangle. Bangle. Wasn’t a bangle a type of bracelet?
Shaking her head like most animals did when wet, she dispelled all non-trade thoughts out of her mind.
She needed to get the doll, and Valinta was depending on the talkative, interesting man to get it. After all, what was a girl without the doll that she loved, named, and preened? Not a girly girl, that was for sure. Valinta briefly held a sour expression on her face at her plight of girliness, and then it sank away to show a smile. She wondered if Bangle would like to know how to dance.
It was the only skill that she had, but it was one that could be used for anything. Showing off, distracting people, impressing young ladies, dancing could be done for anything, really.
Valinta suppressed a giggle at the thought of several young Luperci females surrounding the male as he danced. It was a funny picture in her head, something that she definitely wanted to try to make real.
A grin spread across her muzzle, much like the one on Bangle’s, and she leaned forward.
“How would you like to dance, Mister Guffawri?” she asked him smoothly.
Valinta hoped that would accept dancing lessons in exchange for the doll, because she needed that doll more than someone would assume. It was really the only link she had to her homeland and to her heritage.
After all, it wasn’t called a princess doll for no reason. It was created only for the princesses of the packs.
So she’d obviously gotten one at a young age and had loved it. It was handcrafted lovingly by the doll maker of the pack, and gifted to her by her father.
Before he quickly left to do something or another.
It had been a beautiful moment of her childhood ruined by him leaving to do something political or to visit his concubines.
Valinta scowled and then smiled again.
She didn’t want to look like a maniac in front of her only way of getting back her doll, now did she?
