The eldest of the three Monroe daughters blinked the sleep out of her ocean blue eyes, a light yawn escaping her lips. It was a morning like any other, with her two sisters' body warmth making her feel perfectly comfortable as she lay in a ball, tangled up in all of the blankets she'd managed to hog overnight. The walls of the Victorian home brought a kind of safety, enabling Poppy to relax and enjoy the early morning atmosphere. Her sisters were still snoring around her, Magnolia stirring slightly. The pup stayed put, listening to her surroundings for a brief moment. Seconds later the moment was gone, however, for the little fuzz ball of energy had grown bored.
Without even bothering to be quiet for her sleeping sisters' sake, Poppy Monroe hastily attempted to rid herself of the tangled mess that was her blankets, managing to paw Foxglove in the head - how in the world could they both remain fast asleep by the time she'd gotten free, four paws safely on the wooden floor? She did not stay put long enough to find out, speeding clumsily out of the door, eyes scanning the area for her mother.
November was slowly coming to an end, bringing with it a bittersweet coldness that, although Poppy did not know it yet, would turn into a glittery white powder known as snow. As Poppy set foot outside of the door, a sudden gush of cool air hitting her fluffy face, she couldn't help but shiver slightly. It was one of the coldest mornings to date and Poppy wasn't sure she liked it very much.
Of course, she didn't have much time to muse over the idea of summer, because that was when she spotted the she-wolf she'd been looking for. Before even taking a step toward her however, Poppy realized that her Mama looked a little upset. Poppy didn't like that at all; unlike the cold, she knew that one for a fact.
"Mama, are you okay?" she asked as she edged closer, her nose pressing against the red-haired woman's hand affectionately.
