Red Fall, Creeping Winter

Whee Big Grin

Seeing her fellow AniWayans was like a breath of fresh air, albeit quite crisp and cool. She had not spent too much time in her alleged pack in the recent months, similar to how Claudius had spent a great deal of time in the den. He had grown sickly and had rebounded with vigour when Ocèane returned, but he was beginning to return to his old habits. And so, she had somehow — even she didn't know how — convinced him to come to the seasonal ceremonies with the rest of the tribe. Perhaps she had nagged him to death that he had finally relented and decided to come, or perhaps he had decided he was getting a little hungry. Nonetheless, her little family had managed to make it this far. If they could just get through the winter, she hoped they would survive a bit longer.

She and Claudius were silent as the other members arrived. Dawali's cheerful voice warmed her heart and she could see Claudiuses ears perk up at the sound of the male's voice. Tayui fiddled with a necklace painted black and glanced over to see Claudius with his blue book. He had painted them, a simple task that nonetheless had given him something to do while they prepared for the ceremony. Tayui hoped his spirits would pick up soon.

Tayui rested her hand on her son's back as Dawali spoke, trying to find the members he mentioned. She recognized Nayati's name, but the others were quite unfamiliar. She supposed that was what happened when she didn't interact with her own tribe. For a moment, she felt a little ashamed, but quickly cast the feeling aside. She was here now and that was what mattered. She would make amends.
