Dawali shot him a look as he entered with Liliana, and he did indeed catch the meaning of it. Nayati couldn't help but give a smirk back to the chief. He had not talked to anyone about his budding relationship with the hybrid fey, aside from Onawa, and he did wish to speak to the Amara male about it, and the possible future it could lead to. Things between the pair were still new though, still developing, and the Utina man was not one to talk openly about such things. What was between him and Liliana was private for the moment, and would stay that way for a little bit longer.

There was no time to dwell on such things though as it was time to extinguish the great fire. As always, Nayati rose to help throw sand upon the flames to bring them down to their reverent demise. It was always a little sad, putting to rest the fire, especially when the season they were heralding in was such a treacherous one. Still, that small sorrow could not last long for the new flames were quickly given birth and the fire was soon roaring it's light and life into the gathering yet again. Nayati took his black-painted arrow and threw it into the fire, saying a soft prayer that the winter would not treat them too harshly.

The true ceremony complete, it was time to celebrate and Dawali sat and started to play a tune on his flute. The Utina could dance, sometimes, if everyone else were dancing as well, but it was certainly not his calling. He was relieved to see Liliana head towards the food instead of to dance and he followed dutifully behind her. As they gathered their food his eyes swept over the gathered faces and when he saw Sanuye he smiled and waved at her, oblivious to any discomfort that he was causing her.
