Kansas nibbled away at the rabbit, though as the moments passed he took larger and larger bites until he had lapsed into his usual messy and loud manner of eating. He couldn't deny that with Ghita there was a lack of potent anxiety that he felt around most. Even during their first meeting, when he'd worried about making a good impression on her, his self-conscious attitude hadn't nearly the strength as it did with most other strangers.
Kansas tilted his head as he listened for her response, gnawing rhythmically at the remaining leg of the rabbit, its bloodied foot hanging out of his mouth. There was simply an unspoken understanding between them that when she had pack duties to attend to, or needed rest and food, he would watch over the pups. Then, when they both had free moments, they cared for the pups together. Between him and Savina, everything seemed to flow remarkably smooth. He had offered the advice meekly, not actually sure how to explain the "better" ways of parenting. He worried that it was shallow advice, and felt badly to have given it when Ghita requested it of him so admiringly.

Each one was 180 degrees different from the next, and playing with them was a new experience every time. My newest... they're getting older now. I miss being able to play all the time. Pups gave him the excuse to completely disregard maturity.
