Haha, awww. Now I feel bad if I have Zale being mean to her. XD

This coyote sure did have a strange way of talking, and seemed far too weightless. Everything about her was happy and light – the way she moved with flowing grace, the gentle tone of her voice, the soft harmony of colors in her pelt, the way her words flowed from her mouth. Azalea was rigid and to the point, vastly opposite from the young Lykoi. Golden eyes studied China, trying to decipher what influence or power the coyote might hold. If she were to prove useful to Azalea, she’d try to keep her in good terms. If she was just an extraneous being, then Azalea would easily discard her. For now, she was unsure. The girl’s demeanor put the coal colored girl at unease, much like most casual encounters with peers of her own age.

While fingers of one hand remained curled around her writing utensil, the other held the notebook in her lap. She didn’t have a chance to respond to China, before she had moved to sit near Zale and had swept up another of her notebooks. Normally, she would have prevented anyone else from touching her things, but she had been stunned from any action. After a slight hesitation, though, Azalea’s coldness worked its way back into her frame. The strange numbing sensation she had felt for just a moment had melted away. "I told you, they’re not drawings," she snapped, reaching out to angrily snatch the notebook from China’s grasp.

Mostly, she was annoyed that China had called the content of her notebooks bad, even if it was obvious the coyote didn’t understand them. They were anything but bad, and Azalea resented the girl’s judgment. After all, Zale was a perfectionist. She was not allowed to create anything deemed bad. Beneath the cool black of her fur, heat flared and the prickling along the back of her neck signaled the rising of hackles. "And good for your sister," she added as an afterthought, her voice much softer then. She looked down to the pages of the notebook she had reclaimed, and assured herself that her meticulous paragraphs and lists were just fine. In fact, they were perfect.
