She was steady, long legs pounding the frosted grass and breaking it with each hoof print that was left. The cold wintery air ran through his fur like ice tinged fingers that threatened to touch his skin beneath the thick undercoat. His uneven mane looked wild and stood straight out against the back of his neck, and he held tight to the reins of the mare to slow her to a stop. The male wore only the tattered jeans that were his normal attire, along with a belt and a leather strap on his wrist. He sat high on the saddle; smoke billowing from both his maw and the snout of the roan hued horse. Amber eyes looked out into the frost and the fog of the morning, the border of his home at his back and the free lands before him.
The chill of the morning spoke of the cold that had rolled through the lands the previous night. But his purpose for the wandering away from his homelands was not easily gathered in the coy-wolfs mind, though he was certainly one to follow his urge even without meaning. With a small heel to her side Heath asked the mare to continue, their pace slower and more controlled then before.
