Weird post! She's in someone's house, in their like...drinking room. Lmao. There're probably cigars in there too, if they're not all dried and shitty. They don't have to drink, if you don't want, but she never has so I thought it'd be fun. Big Grin WC:521

These human residences were so ugly. She wondered what they had looked like before the destruction. Probably not much better... She covered her nose abruptly, the scent nearly choking her, as she passed a particularly unpleasant sight: a dumpster filled with all manner of trash and the bones of long-deceased humans.

To Sage, it was sad what had happened to them, but nothing could be done now. She wished, for their sake, that they had been buried properly, in the ground, so that the Earth could reclaim them. If she had been able to stand the disgusting mess for longer, she might have thrown some flowers and seeds on top of the rotted pile.

The girl inhaled deeply, having passed that portion of Halifax. She had never been to Halifax, and the buildings were quite foreign to her. Juniper Peace did not have such structures. She noticed with a smile, though, that the land was being overthrown as it should-- vines were infiltrating many of the buildings, and those with worse damage had be overrun completely with plant life. Much of it was dying from frost, but she could tell that the battle was being won. The girl bowed her head briefly. Thank you, Mother. the thought meant for the Earth alone.

The sandy Lykoi girl trod lightly, almost tiptoeing, watching her steps very carefully. She was quite afraid she might step on some piece of broken glass; there was plenty of it around. Sage wrapped her rabbit-fur blanket around her tightly as a breeze rushed through the corridors that remained between buildings. She huddled up next to one and found its entrance. It seemed like it may have once been a home. She walked further into it, fearless of what might lay in its depths. Straw-colored eyes peered into each doorway, until she found one that was particularly interesting. Cabinets, many of them cracked and with their glass windows shattered, lined the walls. Inside of them were bottles, and though she attempted to make out some of their labels, she was unskilled in the language of humans. The room, otherwise, seemed like it may have once been very habitable. A warm brown leather couch, torn and its stuffing half exposed sat in the middle of the room. A dingy, dust-covered rug lay beneath it, its red fabric projecting a shadow of the beauty it once held, golden tassels frayed and ugly.

Sage crept over to remove one of the bottles from its home, opening the window with care. Despite her delicate touch, though, the hinge dislocated and crashed to the floor with a loud bang, what was left of the glass shattering. With a gasp she leaped backwards, nearly toppling over the couch. Her heart racing, she glanced around, wondering if she was still alone after making such a racket. With a heavy sigh, shaking her head at her own nerves, the girl sat on the couch, bottle still in hand.

She turned it over in her hands, enjoying the feel of the smooth glass. She didn't dare open it, though.
