CONTEST -- SoSuWriMo 2011
#3
Addition to the SSWM FAQ:

Are we allowed to write up posts beforehand and then post within the time period?

No. That would be considered cheating. The point of the event is to write as much as possible within the stated time period, not to simply post as much as possible in the stated time period. In NaNoWriMo, writing parts of your novel beforehand goes against the challenge, and it is the same for SoSuWriMo. Similarly, as pre-planning, writing outlines, and general preparation is allowed in NaNoWriMo, planning plots, threads, and other ways to reach your word goal is allowed for SoSuWriMo. However, every word contributing to your 50,000 should be written in the month of January.

Obviously, we have no way to really enforce this. This is an event dependent on players' honesty and we give you the benefit of the doubt. However, if cheating becomes pervasive, we won't be able to continue sponsoring events like this, so please don't do it!
