Eyes turned to view the scene again, Addison in close combat with the nasty Inferni woman. One last surge of adolescent courage seized him and the boy once more charged the coyote, jaws snapping as if they might catch some flesh. Yet all he really hoped to do was serve as a distraction and so when he came to the woman snapping his eyes shut right at the moment when he might collide with her, and then he leaped away before any fury might be turned upon his young body.
Twisting, and this time not even looking back to see if Addison might be followed he fled, hoping that his small interference had granted Addison a way out, or perhaps given her the upper hand. Or in the very least cause whatever blow the Infenri woman was about to deliver to be less accurate, less harsh. He barely slowed until he was half way back to Phoenix Valley, and only then did he slow to see if Addison was behind him or not.
