for Jazper

It had been a surprise when Anann had found the largest of Anu's sons at their borders a few days ago. Well, at least Anann assumed that Alder was still the largest of his brothers as he had been when they were still small pups. It had been good to see the boy again. Rem had been excited to see him again as well, perhaps more so. It was surprising just how much the boy had grown in what seemed to Anann as such a short time. Surely he already far surpassed his tawny mother in size. His visit had brought all her friends in the neighboring pack to mind. It had been so long she had paid a visit.

Perhaps such a visit was just what Anann needed. She had been sulking a bit since Heath had left with his family. The black armed man had been her closest friend. He knew things about her that even Anatoliy did not and his absence had been heavy on her heart. So maybe she just needed to strengthen some of the other bonds she had made to help mend her wounded heart. She was long over to due to pay a visit to Crimson Dreams after all. By the time she had finished the morning chores at the stables she had decided that trip to the neighboring pack was exactly what she wanted to do with her day.

"Let's go." She said as she slid open the black stallion's stall door. A leather pack slung over her back she walked out of the stables, the horse following just steps behind. Closing up the barn, she mounted the bare backed horse and with a click of her tongue sent them headed out across the snow covered hills that divided the two packs. Not even pausing at the scent marked borders, Anann rode on until the large manor that the majority of the pack called home. Sliding gracefully from his back, Anann gave out a short, low howl to announce her presence. She called for no one in particular, unsure of just who might be home.

Taking the pack off her shoulders Anann pulled out Rem's large leather blanket. The ride had made him warm and she did not need him catching a chill in the winter air while he waited on her. Despite his winter coat the stallion just was as adapt for the cold winter's as Anann was in her own thick pelt, especially after a long ride over the rolling country side.
