Shh, it's a secret! (part 1)

Well that was unexpected. Sky had thought for a moment she could smell the other D'Arte girl, but she didn't think anything of it, used to various scents sometimes invading her nose and not leaving. All of a sudden, though, the little Russian girl appeared like a ghost behind her, and Sky jerked in surprise, unable to move away due to Val grabbing hold of her. She glanced around to look at her, and finally the black girl's words registered.

"We are?" Sky knew full well what most girls around here meant by 'shopping', Valinta and herself included. A trip out to a store to rummage and find whatever it was they wanted. It was fun, and it was good therepy, even if she loved her books almost as much. "Where and when?" A small smile spread across the hybrid's maw, and she turned a bit, setting her book down, to face Val.

Valinta was probably Sky's very best female friend in the pack, and probably her very best friend at all right now. She and Skye were the only two the wolfdog would turn to for girl talk, and depending on the situation, Valinta was her first choice. Always. The two shared a sort of mutual perspective on life, even if Sky was a bit more depressed than the less-taught shade. Val was the perfect smile to end Sky's many moments of feeling blue, and it was one of the reasons she was so fond of her.

If Sky were to have kids, Valinta would be the instant godmother and aunt of them, no matter what. She felt as if the little shade would be a forever friend, even if those rarely came about. So when Valinta decided it was time for some girlish shopping therepy, Sky was quick to agree, all smiles and excitement. That was a constant thing between the two, even if this would be their first shopping trip together. Sky knew she had a friend in Val. Why not make the very best of it?
