around conor's house, i think :3 wc: 414

Element had been resting in Dahlia de Mai for a while now - and he was glad of it. He felt better every day, though he did not dare to test his leg on which he rested. Instead, he spent the days by talking to Conor and the other Dahlians, each of whom were very interesting. He always had a nice conversation with them, and was glad he was here. He knew that he wouldn't forget any of them, and would perhaps visit them later on in his life. No, not perhaps - he would. And owed Conor his life from now on - if the orange wolf needed anything done, he would do it. They were - and Element would never have applied this word to a canine prior to his time in Souls - friends.

He had learned through the talk of the pack that the Dahlia de Maians had a rank system based off of pack loyalty and obedience, and through how active they were in pack hunts and other things. Element thought that this wouldn't suit a cat - cats would rebel within the first few minutes of that - but it worked out quite well for a dog or a canine, for their instincts told them to be in a pack. He thought that Conor was a good leader - strong but gentle. Not too harsh, and not too much of a pushover.

He turned his attention to the ground. It was soft - like dirt, but a bit less wet. It would still, however, make a mark if a claw were to penetrate it. He unsheathed his claws and carefully drew one over the dirt - it wrote. He then began to write words:

He slunk along the dirty streets, a shadow with no name. His paws touched the ground with no effort and no noise - a silent passerby, barely noticeable against the buildings.

Each word took a long time to write - his other claws kept getting in the way, and he rubbed out many words before deciding on that introduction. He read it over and over until it was memorized - he had written something, even if it was short and had no real point. He felt a surge of satisfaction, and hoped that it wouldn't be washed away by water and rain or blown away by the wind. If he ever met someone that could write for him, he'd write a book and put it in the Halifax library for any to read.
