Just finishing this up with Key's reaction to loosing the necklace. Boy is he gonna be mad once he finds out who has it Big Grin

He was in his optime form, running as fast as he could whilst trying not to jostle his injured arm which he cradled close to himself. He’d received treatment from Demi and knew he probably shouldn’t be out running around like a mad man, but it was missing. His breath hitched with panic, upon his brow sweat was forming. He’d lost it, Jay’s necklace; the only thing that he had to remind himself of the man who had raised him, tears filled his eyes, threatening to spill over. “Please be there, please be there” he chanted under his breath. A small hole was forming in his heart, it felt as if he may break at any moment.

Reaching the small rocky output where he had fought with J’adore earlier he leapt from the rocky ledge down to the sand. Looking around in frantic panic, he had no idea how to start searching, it was dark and he had no idea where it had fallen or if it had fallen during the fight at all.

Lowering himself down to his knees he ran his right hand through the soft sand, praying to find it. His hopes rising with every pebble and stone he uncovered. A soft whimper rose above the sound of the water, tears streaking down his face, “Please, please” he begged. He continued moving, still hoping, praying that he would find it. He searched the area once, twice, three times. It wasn’t there.

Hours passed, it was getting late and he had to start heading back to Anathema soon. Collapsing against a rock his head and arms hung loosely at his side, his bottled up emotions spilling out in the form of a loud whimper, he sat there upon the sand and cried his heart out. He was a failure; he couldn’t even look after a necklace! He should have stayed away; he should never have come to souls. He should have remained alone wandering here and there, maybe then he would still have a part of Jay with him. Without the necklace he felt the loss of Jay all over again, he was alone, he was a failure, a waste of space.

What was he going to do? He didn’t know but he had to do something, memories of Jay kept running through his mind, mocking him and fuelling the pain in his heart. Pulling himself together slightly, he rose and started heading home. He’d go home and sleep, sleep and forget everything. Locking away useless memories of companionship was easier than dealing with the loss that came with them. He’d forget about Jay, the necklace, everything.
