It was not long before the boy Xeris had been hoping to see emerged from the ranch house, looking cheerful and energetic like she remembered. He was shifted into his two-legged form, and Xeris had to look up at him, which was definitely not something she was used to doing with Pripyat. "Pripyat," she said, happy to see him, "Just who I was looking for. Let me greet you properly." The white wolfess inhaled deeply and closed her eyes before shifting, her spine realigning and bones popping into place in different alignments as she went from a four-legged to a two-legged body. Once her transformation had completed, she stepped forward to place a hand on Pripyat's shoulder.

"It's been a while," she remarked. "How have you been?" She looked him over, smiling. He still reminded her of his mother Geneva, having inherited her gray fur and thin frame, aside from his ice-blue eyes. Xeris couldn't recall ever seeing eyes like that on another wolf, and certainly not Jefferson or Geneva. But that was part of what made the boy unique, she supposed. He couldn't be an exact copy of his parents, could he? It was good to see him regardless; she still felt a bit of a motherly instinct toward him despite the fact that he was not her own son.
