Her breathing became more normal every inhalation she took. The drugs were wearing off now, and she could actually understand J’adore as he spoke now. I'm going to go now. I have things to attend to sounded pretty crystal clear to her right now. She looked up at him, not saying a word, but nodded toward him before he walked off.
She stared at his face the last time she could see him, and it stayed in her mind. The last of the drugs distorted it slightly and she giggled at the funny image she saw in her head. His head was all stretched out while his body was normal. Funny really.
She pushed herself off the ground, and sat facing the sea. The waves rolled in and out, and she remembered that her eyes still burned from the salt. Stupid salt. Or was it the whale sperm that the human books said? Or at least she thought they said, since she wasn’t such a good reader after all. She wished she could spot a dolphin, but they haven’t been mentioned in years. Did they even still exist?
She stayed sitting there, planning on staying until nightfall, and squished her toes into the sand. Weird feeling it was. It almost felt like that weird feeling you get when you lay in a certain position for too long, and your blood stops flowing correctly to that one area. Yeah.. Her thoughts were beyond her. She placed her elbows on her knees and leaned forward to continue to watch the waves. J’adore hadn’t said anything more to her, and she nearly forgot about him. She left him to do what he needed to do, after all, she held him captive for the whole afternoon. The waves continued to roll in and out; the sound was quite calming. Her eyes slowly began to close, and she keeled over into the sand not really caring much at that point. Not even caring enough at the moment when high tide would come in later that night…
