434 words. Set around 8-9AM, January 25th (today). For Kesho Maisha, but left AW to Inferni members simply for the amusement factor.

"When the sun rises, the kids will play."

The cinnamon-hued de le Poer laughed at her silent musing, reaching down to pull the torn cotton top from the floor beside her rundown bed. It was a pathetic piece of clothing, really, covered in patches of mud and blood with rips and worn material. No matter how frequently she washed it, it remained stained with the imagery of her recent disappearance. As Talitha's crimson eyes cast a solemn gaze over the grime, her confidence faltered; such poor memories were lodged in the fabric. But all of those memories could be doused with a bit of care, and a lot of whiskey.

She pulled the time-worn tank top over her head and made way to follow suit with her skirt, tugging it up over her tail to belt it securely with a strip of black. Sleeping naked was far more comfortable than sleeping with restricting fabrics against her body. With her clothes replaced for the morning, she just needed one last thing: the bottle of liquor that was sitting on the beated-up table in the corner. A gleeful smile crept over the lips of the Inferni woman as her fingers wrapped around the bottle's neck in a delicate movement. Lucky for her, the bottle was half-full. After all, she couldn't start her daily party without it.

A trilling laugh escaped her as she found the door of her bedroom, crossing the hall to the stairwell with an ease of motion given to her at birth; graceful Optime steps took her from the stairwell to the entertaining hall, and from there it was a straight shot through the center wing and lobby to reach the covered porch they had out front. That was where she liked to sit, taking in the sunlight without stepping into the snow on cold days. It only took one movement and she was sitting, stretching her legs out in front of her while bringing the mouth of the bottle to her lips. The liquor burned as it went down, bringing false tears to her crimson eyes as they gazed out over the grounds with a vague sense of pride and joy in her place upon the Inferni lands.

Within Talitha's mind, she was a queen who deserved her palace. Inferni served just that, and her mind entertained the idea as she continued the occasional sips of whiskey, slowly falling to rest on her side; her chestnut locks spread out about her muzzled face in a halo of silken fur. It was a good day, and she hoped it would stay that way.
