Sorry if anything's wrong; postin' from mah phone at work lol. WC: 428

It had begun the night before. The storm had caused the old man to sleep fitfully. The noise of the wind and the sounds of the blizzard rustling through the trees had not been easy to sleep with. His cave did not shield him fully from the chill, either, and its entrance had filled with snow by the time he rose.

Crimson eyes flickered open slowly, greeted by a half wall of thick snow. Oh, how obnoxious the weather could be. With a low growl, he heaved himself out through the opening, shoving aside whatever snow was in his way.
The Hydra glanced around bleakly; the sky was gray and the flurries still came through. The snow was so deep in some places, the man knew he would have to avoid them or risk getting stuck.

Immediately, the man thought of Kaena. Her cave was nearby, and judging the direction of the winds and alert, she could be in danger. Instinctively, the old man took off in her direction.

Kesho did hear Gabriel's call, but only after he'd already begun running.

His steps were careful, but very intentional. He knew exactly where he was going, and although his aging bones ached, he sped as fast as ever, his mind reeling, pleading to whatever gods there might be that she was alright.

Kesho arrived in record time, not having slowed his pace at all. He sped right up to the cave entrance, having seen the three furiously digging at the wall of snow blocking Kaena in. The old man did not stop, and instead hurled his body as heavily as he could into the wall, paws first in a very instinctive movement. His face bore no expression but determination.

Kesho had seen Gabriel, Talitha, and Sepirah but did not really acknowledge their presence. It was good to have more help, but his mind was on a single track and would not be strayed from it until this situation was resolved.

The rusty, graying man dug furiously, quickly and with all of his strength. Every several seconds, he would pause and plow all of his weight against the snow with his paws once again, hoping to dislodge the ice in larger sheets and get to his aging friend as soon as caninely possible.

"Kaena!" the old Hydra half shouted, half breathed.

He was panting now, but could not feel the pain of the cold nor the lack of breath in his lungs. He felt nothing but the snow flying out from under his paws, his weight crushing the ice purposefully.
