Why does it always rain on me

Word Count → 666 :: One day we will actually have a thread together that is not a bajillion months old when it is finished! Hahaha. <333 Also, please tell me if you'd like all of that PP changed! I just wanted to move things forward. Alsoalso, this post has 666 words. :o

He hadn’t saved her. Not really. Sure he had been the one to eventually find her precious pet, but had he not been there, Halo would have eventually discovered the limp little body covered by the blanket of white. She would have been able to pull herself out of the remnants of her room, and life would have gone on. He had not saved her. He had only acted as a catalyst to remove her from the white prison faster. Still, he appreciated the sincerity in her voice and could not help but smile down towards the rubies that sought his face. All he wanted was to save her, to protect her, but over the months he had realized that Halo was perhaps too independent and strong for someone like Silas to save. Despite his desperate need to care for her, maybe he wasn’t strong enough for her. His generally gentle demeanor did not seem to fit into her Inferni life, or so he sometimes thought. Perhaps he needed to adapt. He didn’t want to lose more moments like this. He truly did want Halo in his arms forever.

"Here, let’s get you somevhere nice and varm," he said to her, hugging her form closer to him. Now that both of his palms were free, since Halo had retrieved the small form of her rodent, in a fleeting decision Silas scooped up the princess into his arms so that she wouldn’t have to walk. He could tell that the small trek out of the disastrous bedroom had been painful for her, and he didn’t want her to have to walk any further. He hoped she didn’t mind, but truthfully it made him feel somehow heroic to be holding her that way. He didn’t really believe he had saved her as she had said, but in this moment it was nice to fantasize that he had. "Ve can get somezhing for zhe little guy, too."

The journey down the hallway to his bedroom only took a few moments, and the young Russian brushed open the door to lead them inside. He went straight for the maroon colored arm chair, where he gently let Halo free from his arms to settle her onto the cushion. Her foot looked as if it might need medical attention, but Silas himself did not know enough to treat it. Perhaps another one of Inferni’s members might be able to fix up some sort of remedy.

Kneeling onto the hard wood floor before her, fingers went to the back of his head to release the knot of the blue bandana. It easily fell away from his face, letting some of the dark strands fall in front of icy eyes. "Here Halo, you should keep ‘im varm," a hand outstretched to offer the bandana as a makeshift blanket for the rat. With that, a palm moved towards her foot, gently lifting it so that he might see her wound better. It did not look as if there was anything lodged in it, so he assumed it would be best to wrap it to prevent it from bleeding more, at least until someone else could care for it properly. "Ees anyone een zhe mansion a medic?" Halo had been in Inferni longer than Silas had and was further in hierarchy than him. He figured if anyone might know who best to treat her, he figured it would be Halo.

In the meantime, the boy went to the chest by the door and opened it to reveal a stash of random odds and ends. Some were things he himself had collected, and others had been present in the chest before he had claimed it as his own. He reached for fabric, some tattered remnant of sheets, and tore away a strip he could use for Halo’s foot. It only took a moment for the Russian to turn and kneel again, before he began to gingerly wrap the fabric around the wound to staunch any remaining bleeding.
