Something was wrong with the man before him. Why did Saluce hesitate when he stepped towards his good friend? But Conor’s mind was quick at finding excuses to avoid having to deal with more than he had to. The man was injured and was in a generally horrible shape. Of course he was slightly disoriented and .. sceptical? Lavender travelled away, perhaps afraid of finding answers he did not want to face. Saluce seemed well positive to the thought of a meal, and so that was what he would get. Perhaps he would be more of his old self again after having quenched his hunger.
”All right,” the alpha muttered, slowly turning from his friend and moving towards the kitchen where leftover meat from one of the traps rested. Did the other prefer it raw or prepared in some way? Hunger was not picky according to Conor’s memories, so he merely returned with the bloody meat, nodding at a chair to silently suggest that the man should sit down. It was good to be up from the sick bed, but the healer was wary. Head injuries were difficult, he thought, for he did not know what possible damages Saluce’s brain had received, if any.
