He wanted to get away — no, he had to. He needed to. The storm had torn apart all security in the pack, leaving the territory in ruins, coated ever-so-sweetly in a layer of snow. All that Jefferson had built up, dedicated his life to, torn apart in one snowstorm. Of course, that was an overexaggeration, but it was what dwelt in the burning inferno within his chest, a blaze hot enough to melt everything he hobbled past, now three-legged, and he hated every second of it.
Luckily, none had been lost in the storm; their meeting after its fury had ceased had told him none were missing and, though with several bumps and bruises, all were alive and well. He and Ookami had both lost a limb and the Patriarch had rescued a number of his underlings, including his son, in all the chaos and fuss. The storm had left wreckage in its wake, but he and his members had already met up and decided what would happen next in the following months. Major repairs would wait until April. For now, Jefferson simply needed to escape.
Losing a limb was an overwhelming feeling, both physically and mentally; it flipped his world upside down, forcing him to think and move in different ways. The experience was frustrating to no end, testing any and all the patience he had. When it came to a point of hopelessness he excused himself to Geneva and left, hopefully for a few days' peace after the chaos. It was hardly worth enduring the bitter cold, and yet he did so anyway. The brute paused at laughter in the air, raising his scarred snout up in search; a vaguely familiar smell he found, though a name he could not attach to it. Why?
And so he followed that sound, hobbling, three-legged. He followed it to the cave from where it echoed and called ever so delightfully and peered within. A few cautious steps, a suspicious look at the larger of the two figures he could see.
Fast, puzzled realization. "Taliesin?"
