Though she had only had one litter of her very own Anu had helped raise quite a few puppies. As a young wolf Anu had been the sitter for her family's pack and she had played with many puppies as a Jaded Shadow's wolfess. Games were something Anu had played all her life and she wouldn't likely stop any time soon. The mother remembered a time when she pretended to be a dragon for the amusement of Haven, when he was just a wiggling white and orange pup. Amusement of Haven, but herself as well. Then the kite that she and Hemming made and flew just outside the tribe's lands. Such times made her feel young again, and made it possible for Anu to believe that there was more then growing old left for her.
The elder looked at the pup with a glint of excitement in her sky eyes. Hide and seek? She asked, pretending as if this was a game she had never heard of before. She knew that a pup enjoyed teaching an adult just as much as an adult enjoyed giving lessons to a child. Now, how would you play that? She smiled as she asked. Her own tale waved behind her, the excitement that the puppy showed was contagious and elevating her once downtrodden heart.
