Where you could always find me

There was some life in the smile she maintained at his humours comeback served with a mischievous grin, though she did not quite know what to make of him. These scarlet eyes should always see him as the enemy, and she knew better than to be dazzled by friendliness and personality. While she was a creature full of flaws, she did learn from previous mistakes, especially when they were extraordinarily horrible. But she was superior to him, so it wouldn’t do to feel uncertain around him. He had already been labelled, so there should be no trouble dealing with him. In theory at least. Why would he aim to please one such as herself. Inferni had a reputation not restricted to these lands alone. Many outsiders knew of the malevolent group as well.

Her curiosity was not sated at his answer to that question. Or was he making fun of her? Sharp nails tapped together in a manner that could suggest building irritation, though she was not quite there yet. ”Oh?” she followed, tilting her head slowly while taking a lonely step above him, still considering the canine before her. Wisely, he chose to elaborate, and while she listened she had to wonder why the hell he would bother her with such details. They were strangers and she had no specific right to gain such insight, though as long as he was willing to share… well. She wouldn’t shut him up if he remained interesting. A man without memories was a stranger in a stranger place.

She thought the question he served her back was silly, but if his memory truly was wiped clean, then she guessed that he just couldn’t know. Perhaps he was trying to play her, but a wolf without memories would still be the enemy, and he was nowhere near piercing her guard. ”I live in a coyote clan that has claimed territory west of here.” But that was not all. They weren’t just any bunch of boring canines. ”We like to decorate our borders with a few wolf heads on sticks. You should come see them one day.” Awfully chatty she was today. The last words were not intended to sound threatening, but the wolf was more than free to interpret her words however he wanted.
