He knew that prey screamed, but did not know how to make it stop. Well, he did, but he did not want to cease what he was currently doing. It was not cruelty that led him to do this, but vivid curiosity that surpassed morale. Perhaps it was similar to the incident with Kaena. He ached to know. The wild guinea pig could go nowhere though, for it was tightly strapped to the ground with strong threads created from sinew. The animal wanted to twist and squirm, but the boy was merciless. Clawed fingers stroke the wild fur, he should have been proud for having caught it so elegantly without taking its life in the process. It was a beautiful creature, but now the meat beneath fur and skin was being infested by the animal’s stress.

Sharp, cat like claws turned cruel against the loose skin by the neck of the lesser animal, ripping through. And if the animal had screamed before, it was nothing compared to now. Panic and fear now turned into something more; something larger and more horrible. Perhaps the animal knew that it was death ripping through it now. But the boy was careful, for it was the skin he started with. There was more blood than he wanted, and the metallic fragrance wished to make him sick for once, but he continued, increasing the rift in the animal’s skin so that he could see layers of muscles animated by the small creature’s struggle for survival.
