Next to the optime boy rested a deadly weapon that could have taken the attacking canine down so easily had he only known how to wield it. As a young puppy he had watched his mother’s deadly dance with her shiny blades, but there had never been elegance when he had held one. It was a matter of practise, of course. One day he too would become invincible, but not yet. He was a significantly easier target today. Fingers were tensely curled in instinctual wish to do harm whenever they made contact. Had he been a less flawed person he would have screeched what the matter was, but lips were sealed with acceptance. There was always acceptance for the situations the flawed prince entered, for this was hell, after all.

Rumbling thunder vibrated in the stranger’s throat along with another attack. There was fresh crimson on the boy’s claws, but he was oblivious of this fact. Focus was on survival and only that. But in his disadvantageous position, Itachi could feel doubt creeping. Pain entered beneath the elbow, and he took to wonder where his main arteries ran. The hand wielding the sword swung nevertheless, intending to punish the other if he hesitated for a fragment of a moment or remained to let teeth sink deeper into the younger boy’s arm.
