Jace huddled in underneath the log she had found and stared out at the snowy landscape that rolled out before her, the Valley was pretty that evening and she could see the starts shining in the cloudless night, not a branch or leaf stirred nor a blade of exposed grass. She felt.... different. Like something had changed somehow and somewhere within the depths of her soul.
It was a strange feeling but it was not unwelcome nor was it unknown. It had followed her around like a shadow since she had met Temo, licking at her heels and tugging at her brown tipped tail. Maybe she had always known what it was and refused to see it although she didn't know why that might be. He was, after all extraordinary... or to her at least. Her ears flicked about as she looked out at the night and she worried to herself, something. she had always done.
She needed to speak to him. Soon. Now. How would he react? Could he even feel like that about her, could he possibly return her feelings? Or grow to have them if he did only slightly. She licked at her paws nervously, pulling at the fur with her teeth. The bruise still ached but it was getting smaller and she hoped it would be gone soon, she had been able to hide it since it had formed but she didn't want to have to explain to a load of different people. She would call for him now, while her courage was high and her cowardice momentarily silenced. Before she could back out she squeezed herself out from under the old rotting log and lifted her head to the sky, her voice carrying far over the still night.
She fell to quiet as she waited, her tail hugging her paws.
