The rage had held the pain of her wounds at bay, but now that it had vanished the agony smashed into her conscious like a sledgehammer. It, along with the continued loss of blood was quickly loosening her grip on the waking world. Vision had turned blurry and all sounds that reached her ears seemed to be muffled and filtered. Vaguely she was aware of a presence near her and words being spoken, but the only kind of response she could give was to move her head ever so slightly towards the other. When the pain of her shoulder exploded again though she whined sharply and quickly slipped into unconsciousness. Her mind retreated from the overwhelming physical pain and for some blissful moments she knew nothing. There was no hurt, no ache of muscles or emotional loss. A sweet blackness.
The short reprieve did not last long though. The wounded femme was awoken by soft, concerned caresses. There were more around her than there had been before. Scents came to her. It was her family. Amata, Gotham, and Kansas. At first that calmed her, but then a momentary panic overtook her and emerald eyes snapped open in shock, her head darting up. Where was she? Where was the demon? Her body soon reprimanded her for her sudden movement though and she winced, laying her face back down in the stained snow with a whine. Words were being exchanged but it was too much for the Marino woman to process right now. There was only one thought in the forefront of her mind: her murdered son. "She killed him..." her voice weakly rasped. "She...killed him..." Savina slipped back into the darkness of her mind, muscles relaxed and went limp.
