The sable-shaded werewolf was in a part of the caves she did not generally investigate. The hybrid had spent some time exploring, but not nearly enough, as she had just discovered an entire room off to the side of the storage area that she had not known existed. With several hours away from the children, the coyote was in just the right state of mind and situation to attempt to enjoy (or, at least work) here in this library. There weren't many books yet, which was to be expected -- the pack had only been formed a few short weeks prior to the birth of her children, and that had not been very long ago at all. Nearly three months had passed since they had come into being, and they were already larger than Eris could have imagined. Wretch, Pandemic, and Salvia -- hers! She could hardly believe this, still. The idea that these children were Larkspur's as well had hardly crossed her mind; she was the one who had done the hard work in bringing them into the world, and she had held them to her body and fed them from it as well. There was no doubt within the coal-hued woman that the children were hers.

The hybrid moved toward the relatively neat few stacks of books against the rearmost wall, glad for the ever-lit torches on the wall. They were more numerous in this room, despite the lack of books. The woman peered at them anxiously, running her long Optime fingers over their spines, her chartreuse-yellow eyes glowing and glimmering in the firelight. She did not dare select one yet; instead, the woman merely stared at their titles, trying to decipher the letters into meaningful words. It had been so very long since she had read a thing. In Eterne, they taught her, if only because they wished for her to read the Quauhtli. Eris had only bothered to read the thing once, and now she was glad for that -- certainly, nearly everything in the damned book could be confuted by the logical or intelligent. Still, the hybrid woman had not exercised this reading skill in so long, she feared it had completely evaporated from her mind, forgotten entirely. Her shadowy ears folded back and she sighed softly, shaking her head slowly. This would be quite difficult; the hybrid nearly regretted this choice of rank tier now.
