It had been just over a month since the pups had been born and the father's love for them seemed to grow every day that they did. Already they had changed so much from the blind and deaf squirming little bundles that had come into the world that day. Their eyes now open and wide to the world, their little legs learning to work and explore. The Seneschal had woken early, as he usually did, and the pups had stirred with him. Wanting to let Princess sleep a bit more he had scooped the trio up in his arms and carried them out to the warmth of the living room. The fire crackled merrily in the hearth as the Aatte man sat down on the floor with his children. He placed them carefully down on the ground and smiled lovingly down at them, three sets of eyes looking back with their stubby tails wagging.
Haven laid down on his side next to his pups, the fire at his back--he wanted to be certain none of them came too close to the flames--and he spoke softly to them, "I love you all so much, I hope you know." He wanted them to be certain of that truth every day of their precious lives. He was their dad, and he would always love them and protect them. Felicity came up and rubbed up against his scarred chest before planting a lick on his chin. Haven nuzzled his smallest daughter's head while Robin pounced on her brother awkwardly and tried to nip playfully at his ear. Linden retaliated by trying to paw at his sister's face and making little puppy growls. As the father looked at his children, he saw only perfection and love filled him up from the tips of his ears to his toes.
