Foerign Territory

The morning air was exceptionally chilled as the young, fluffy creature padded along. He had been exploring the northern territory of 'Souls recently, and despite his love for the newfound Dampwoods, he had followed his intuition back to the South. He passed all prior areas and simply continued forward before picking up an unusual scent. He followed this scent to a sparse wood, which he eagerly slipped into to explore. He found his heart naturally was more welcoming of these types of areas, and he began to smile idly as he padded along. He found himself overall surprised with how much more he was liking these new Southern Regions even more than he had the Dampwoods.

Suddenly, he came to a full stop. The fur along his spine rose and prickled, and his maw opened in something similar to shock. He took in a deep sniff, looking around cautiously. Something was different here. He could smell other canines here, but not in the normal way. This land was marked. He had never encountered a true pack before, nor had he ever stumbled across marked territory. Little did he know, he had just wandered into the borders of the land belonging to the AniWaya tribe. His tail was no longer up against his back, and instead was tucked low to the ground by his hindlegs. He didn't know why, but something instinctual was telling him he should go no further. It felt, in some way, wrong. Due to his stubborn behavior, rather than backing off and heading back the way he came, he simply lowered his rump into the snow and stared.

He didn't like the anxious feeling in his gut, his ears lowering flat to his skull... He soon decided maybe if he pushed passed it, the feeling would dissipate. He couldn't bring himself to go in too much further, but he allowed himself to wander the borders of this strangely scented land. He was confused as to what it all meant- it smelt like canine, however it was not in a way he was accustomed to. It was all so new and strange. Usually it would have excited him, which is why he felt so confused by this turn of events. He finally got the nerve to step away from his current patch of woods in into the open field. He had to sit once more. "This is weird." He offered to himself. He should be excited to know others were around, especially due to his current lonely condition...
