Had she been a creature born and bred in the saddle, Alaine might have found the motion of the mare beneath her tense thighs to be natural, to be uplifting. As it were, she enjoyed the slight tang of adrenaline as it pumped through her veins - The exhilarating recklessness of being alive. But she was not crafted for life on horseback, and so her interaction with the equine's fluid grace seemed enjoyable at best.

Ezekiel, however, was a stunning sight. On the back of the stallion he perched, seeming to join with the beast - Handsome man on handsome chestnut colt. Both had within them the fire of the fight, creatures crafted of testosterone and flame. It seemed the male was able to quickly adapt to the unusual experience of having a speed far greater than their own canine forms could conjure; More than that, reading the expression on his face, Alaine saw rapture in the release of his tensions.

The stallion was a far fitter creature than his rounded mother, and the beast's muscles slid beneath his fiery pelt like well-oiled machinery, quickly propelling him into the lead. Nana restrained her son with a disciplinary snort, and when at last the two massive clydesdales came to a stop before the old Chien Hotel, clods of earth went flying from dinner-plate hooves.

With slightly shaky legs (although she was proud to note that they were adjusting to the mare's canter well), Alaine slipped deftly down from Nana's back, moving around the mare's blowing and flared nostrils to stand aside her head. Taking the dangling reins in one ivory hand, she moved towards the old iron gate and pushed against the rusty hinges. With a familiar shriek of indignation, they finally parted to allow the Apothecary and her visitor entry. "Close it behind you, and we can turn the horses loose within the front yard. Nana will not wander, and her son will stay close by." She began to take the tack off of the mare, firstly taking the two pups from their pouches. Before she could remove the saddle, the woman turned to Ezekiel. "Would you hold them for me, please?" Her emerald eyes were sharp, testing.
