Spring was upon them now, thankfully, and Princess had taken the sunny day as a good sign. The puppies were much older now, nearly a full two months, and she wanted them to know the pack and its members and land early on. Perhaps it had not been the best thing for them to be born in winter, but it was not as if she and Haven had planned for when they would conceive children. They had discussed having children and she had taken the initiative that day, but it had not exactly been with the intention of conceiving children. It had been welcome (except on the days when she had a mental break down because of her worries and fears), but not entirely planned. It probably would have been better if they had been born closer to spring, but she did not dwell on that. She was so happy to have them.
The young woman was practically giddy that the weather was growing nicer, so she had packed a small basket with some dried strips of meat, a book of stories, and a blanket and gathered her children around her. They had been excited by the prospect of a picnic on the beach, so the mother and her three young children had set off towards the sandy shores, the three puppies dancing excitedly around her feet and the light breeze causing the light material of her white halter dress to flutter around her legs. When they reached the beach, the young woman spread the blanket out neatly on the sand, settling the basket on one of the corners as she pulled out the book of children’s stories. Golden gaze watched her children as they romped in the sand, though she warned them once not to go too close to the water, before she finally settled herself down to read and learn from the book.
