It was much more common that Niro found her in some sort of tizzy and spent his time comforting her than for it to be any such opposite encounter. The Huntsman seemed to be a much more stable individual than the young Lady Chance. This was not mere speculation in her mind, but simply a fact. Now, though, he seemed down and it bothered her so. He was the closest thing to a friend that she really had in the pack and she was loathe to see him with a distant air about him. She listened aptly as he spoke, golden eyes narrowing slightly. Her own father had raped her mother, or so Tokyo had told her, and then left. Princess had never even seen Raphael, and she only knew what he looked like because of her mother’s explanation for how she treated her only living son. Buttface, or Ares as he later coined himself, had looked just like Raphael and that was a bad thing.

Princess had never met Niro’s daughters, though she had seen the one living in the Miracles pack during the snow storm when she and her father and her father’s mate had been rescued and brought back to the hotel. She knew of his daughters, but they were not exactly… real in her mind. They were figures of his life that she knew of, but did not know. Personally, she blamed the mother for the way that the girls had affected Niro. She did not know the mother personally, but Niro was a good man and he was a better father, she suspected. If his daughter was not happy with him, as she had seemed at the hotel, it was because of the mother, not him.

“That must be exciting, though, that you’re going to have more puppies and be an uncle. How is Amaranth feeling?” she asked, but then she paused for a mere moment. “And how did her parents take the news?” It was common knowledge that Vigilante was not really Amaranth’s father, but Princess didn’t even know who was, and as scandalous as the bit of news might be, it was more easily said that the King was her father. He certainly acted the part very well, and she supposed that was what actually mattered, not the blood that ran in her veins. Princess thought back to when Niro had told her of becoming Amaranth’s mate and how the King and his mate had not been pleased because of her young age. This was probably even more of an issue for them if it was the age that bothered them.

The young Lady Chance beamed with pride and love, watching her son and daughters play in the damp sand. They were absolutely perfect, a wonderful blend of their mother and father. “Haven takes care of us,” she said with a smile. Niro knew of her concerns about motherhood, and he had been the one to remind her that Haven would never allow her to be like Tokyo. Knowing that had helped, and she knew that Haven was even happier now that he was a father. Her mate was a family man; it was the way he was supposed to be.
