He had just been trying to help. He could have, and apparently should have, just walked away and left her to brood alone by the shore. For his only reward for his offered words of comfort was born in anger as she spun to face him. Blue eyes, not unlike his own carried an all too familiar flame. Though he had never seen the anger that was frequent to burn in his own eyes he could still recognize it staring back at him. He looked back at her a moment, confused by the contempt in her voice and the way in which she looked at him. What had he said that was so wrong? Huffing, he looked away from her, past her and out across the water.
"Denali." he said plainly, or so he tried though his tone was heavy with sadness. "It's not you fault that..that he is gone." He glanced back at the silver fem, ignoring the anger in her eyes, his own offered only a look understanding. Dead, he hadn't been able to say it. It was hard to swallow. It had been bad enough when everyone thought he had just run away. He had been Cypress' friend too, after all. There wasn't anyone that wasn't hurt by the news in the pack of dreamers. And now he would never be coming back.
