Liliana thought of all the things the little colt did that made him special. It was hard because he was still so new, and he had not been able to run like many of the other foals that were born. He had been early. Much too early in Liliana’s opinion, and she was happy she could keep him as healthy as she could with what limited supplies they had. Liliana felt quite accomplished at being able to care for him, but because he’d been so early, he had little room to run, because it was far too cold for the poor baby horse. Liliana’s ears twitched when she heard something at the doors a question slipped from a young mouth. It had been Sakari, and she looked curious. Liliana smiled at the growing pup. She had seen Sakari off and on throughout the month they had been living in the town hall. She watched her grow up, though spoke little to her. She had so much to do, and then there was the issue with Nayati, but that had been resolved. It had been a total misunderstanding.
“This little one came when the storm hit. He was born a little too early, his mother is over there.”
She pointed to the stall that held the strawberry roan. She was contently looking at them, though Lili could see some worry in the horses’ eye, but she had worked so hard to get the horse to trust her, that she knew that the horse had little choice but to.
“And right now he belongs to his mother, he doesn’t have an owned yet.”
Liliana said smiling a little. She did want to keep him herself, but she had a beautiful mare that did all she needed, though having two did help, that way if one were overtaxed the other could be used. She didn’t know. What she did know though, was once spring hit she’d be getting more horses, possibly when she was coming back from her trip, that way she could get wild ones from where they were so that there would be no imbreeding when she did finally breed the horses.
“I’m just trying to figure out a good name for him even if it’s temporary.”
