A dark ear twitched, picking up the sound of something falling, although the sound was muted by the sand, whatever fell must have been of some size. Turning his body to face the direction in which the sound had came from, he cast his eyes over the sandy beach, locating the source of the sound with ease. Twisting his body and moving his legs underneath him, he placed his feet upon solid ground and instantly started to wade his way through the water and back onto the sandy shore.
This area was well within Anathema territory and he did not recognise the intruder, but in this situation he was at a disadvantage. The young Dasa had left his weapon, hidden behind the stone in which he had planned to nap on whilst his fur dried, and at that moment he was kicking himself for letting his guard down.
As he emerged onto the sand, his muscles tensed and his eyes glowered at the male. Scanning his memory, he did not recognise the male by sight and his scent was overwhelmed by the waters scents and unreliable at that moment. If the male was an intruder, he was skilled to have gotten so deep into Anathema territory without being detected.
Carefully, he took a few slow steps towards the rock. He couldn’t do much unarmed, and so for now he would have to get to his stuff before he confront the stranger.
