Iliya, having been so young when he was pawned off by his dear uncle, could hardly remember Rurik and Kiska. He could only really remember Adrian as far back as he possibly could. Every once and a while he'd dream of strange faces that he didn't know, but those would be his parents. As such, if he met a relative that, like he, resembled Rurik or the general Russo populous, he wouldn't recognize them. But Mars here didn't quite fit that bill to begin with. The only similarity between them were the icy eyes. But even he didn't really notice that. It wasn't often he saw himself in a reflection. And he was much too young to think there could maybe be some connection there. Who would from simply that? Plenty of people had the same color eyes

When Mars understood his request(it was really a puppy demand), Iliya bounced where he was upon Mars' leg, absolutely beaming when the older male found his place in the song and continued. The words were nothing but pure gibberish for the most part. Maybe one or two would stick out, but he didn't understand them when put together in sentences like that. Showed how much attention he paid to Adrian in those many English lessons. He was so excited by the music and the singing that he nearly crawled into the Russo's lap completely and planted himself there. It was with little restraint that he did. But not for long.

He couldn't help himself when he finally did climb his way completely into Mars' personal space, squeezing and planting himself down between the guitar and Mars' stomach. Iliya had never heard of 'stranger danger'. He had absolutely no reason not to trust this guy. He'd been so nice as to entertain him. So obviously it was completely safe to crawl into his lap, cause every stranger would appreciate that.

The question he understood because it was simple enough, and he learned those two words quickly from Adrian. "Nyet," he said with a shake of his head, peering up at Mars with big, curious icy blue eyes. "Ya Iliya," he said with an innocent grin. If he ever wanted to really socialize with people, he'd need to learn the universal language here. He liked Mars, and he was already disappointed knowing he wouldn't understand the half of what he was saying. His smart little mind picked up some stuff from his lessons though, so maybe he could get through this decently. Despite his totally awkward social skills.

Sooner or later he'd learn that crawling into someone's lap and planting yourself there wasn't really the polite and accepted thing to do. But for now he'd remain ignorantly innocent.
