The noonday sun spilled through patchwork clouds to bathe the church in its comforting, golden light. The morning had been frigid and unforgiving, but as the day's crest approached, the woman who dwelled in the attic like room began to feel soothed as her new home became warm and inviting. Orin woke early that morning, as she often did - sleep was a fleeting thing these days – but her daughters slept well into the morning. Yet as the sun climbed higher in the sky and its light poured into the room, the pups were finally brought from their blissful slumber.

They were doing so well now, Orin could barely believe it. A smile pressed onto her muzzle as she watched the tiny little tan, gray and white girls yawn and work the sleep from their torpid minds. They were almost a month old, and ever since the evening when Tala found the and came to their rescue, the puppies had made a quick recovery. Orin was recovering well, too, at least in body if not in spirit. Her pups' well being was all that she care about right now, anyway.

And on that note, how could she reasonably expect the pups to continue to grow strong and thrive if she kept them cooped up in this attic? The girls made little yip yap sounds as they quickly grew restless to greet the day, so after a short feeding Orin gathered the two up in her arms and descended the staircase. “You two are getting heavy already,” she crooned to her daughters, to which she received a boisterous lick on the chin from the little sandy-splotched girl.

“Play nice, now,” she said as she set the pair down on the dais. She barely had them out of her arms before they crashed together. Game on.

The mother took a moment to inspect the church and ensure that they were alone. Not even Tala seemed to be around today. Out getting lunch, she assumed. So Orin sat down in front of the foremost row of pews and shifted into her Lupus form. She favored spending time in her quadruped shape now, as it was more like her little pups, and often made it much easier to interact with them. When the transformation was complete, she stood on her four dainty paws and stretched out her lean muscles, chest dipping to the ground first followed by a dramatically arched back and stretched hindquarters. It wasn't long until the girls noticed their mother's change in shape and ran over to her, barreling into her forepaws before clashing again in their endless war.

Ever the good sport, Orin dipped her muzzle between the girls and flicked her head, scooping the little silver one up and sent her tumbling away. She would be on her paws and back on top of her sister again in a flash. Titania did not disappoint, and quicker than Orin thought possible for those short little legs to move, the little lightning girl collided with her sister.
